Dow Leverages Hands-On Mixology Bar to Boast Formulation Flexibility at NYSCC Suppliers’ Day 2019
Dow has a lot in store for attendees at this year’s NYSCC Suppliers’ Day on May 7-8 with the launch of its first ever, bio-based hair-care polymer and exclusive access to a mixology bar. Attendees can pioneer the evolution of beauty by concocting their own lotions, creams and more, demonstrating how anyone can make high-performance, high-quality personal care products if they have the right solutions.
In addition to experiencing the flexibility of mixing with ACULYN™ Siltouch Rheology Modifier and being among the first to access MaizeCare™ Style Polymer, attendees can explore Dow’s recently launched TrendsLab 2019, a platform of concept collections showcasing formulations and products that deliver on tomorrow's beauty trends.
“Consumers’ heightening demand for sustainable products has beauty brands pivoting to offer more nature-focused products that are good for our people and our planet without breaking the bank,” said Verna Talcott, beauty care market leader for North America at Dow. “This year at Suppliers’ Day, we invite customers to experience firsthand how we push for more sustainable solutions that satisfy both the needs of today’s brand owners and consumers.”
Join Dow onsite at Stand #1411 to explore various technologies aimed to help formulators overcome formulation hurdles, leading to safer, more sustainable and higher performing products.
Hair Solutions Made by Nature, Styled by You
Although demand for natural products has grown significantly in the last few years, product performance continues to be the biggest driver of consumer expectations. This year on-site, Dow will launch its latest innovation MaizeCare™ Style, a bio-based polymer, derived from corn, that provides styling benefits in haircare formulations. The new technology acts as a film-former and styling aid that can range from superior stiffness to soft-touch styling.
At the show we will launch our four product hair styling kit featuring MaizeCare™ Style. This collection showcases cream, gel, wax and spray formulations allowing visitors to experience the unique textures and styling benefits of this innovative product up close. The desire for bio-based hair styling solutions has now met the intersection of performance and sustainability.
Play with Textures at Suppliers’ Day
ACULYN™ Siltouch Rheology Modifier enables formulation ease and flexibility with a light, non-greasy skin-feel and can deliver a large variety of textures, from body lotions to light facial care creams.
Bolstering new and creative ways to demonstrate enhanced sustainability in solutions, attendees are invited to personally experience how the product can be mixed by hand and can be used in products that include oils, waters and butters extracted from plants, fruit, nuts or flowers – some of which include floral water hydrosols, meadowfoam seed oil, rosemary oil, flax seed oil, jojoba oil and more.
Enhance the Beauty of Aging
Designed to excite formulators and brand owners looking to enhance product performance and sensory qualities, this novel technology selectively traps Reactive Oxygen Species to avert their damaging effects from external aggressive factors.
The Dow-patented AgeCap Smooth™ Cosmetic Ingredient is a finalist at this year’s Suppliers’ Day for the “CEW Supplier’s Award: Ingredients & Formulations 2019.” Mirroring the Academy Scientific and Technical Awards, a curated panel of judges from leading beauty and personal care brands will collectively select a winner at the annual Awards Night May 7, 2019.
Inspire Brands to “Engage & Embrace”
Developed by Dow’s personal care experts from around the globe, this year’s TrendsLab 2019 provides customers with a collection of ready to use formulations aligned to the latest global beauty trends. Focusing on skin and hair care, TrendsLab 2019 consists of four themes:
